June 13, 2016 – Ms. Iguchi Fumiko, Senior Coordinator for International Cooperation Partnership Program Division of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Kyushu has visited Global Communication Center (GCC) of Grameen Communications (GC) at Grameen Bank Complex, Dhaka. Dr. Rafiqul Islam Maruf (Director, GCC) welcomed her to the office. The purpose of the visit was to learn about the performance of JICA-SENSE project, as GC/GCC plays an important role in this project as one of the project partners who provides ICT support. In this meeting, they discussed different issues related to the ICT system of the project and the overall potentiality of the project to convert its outcome into a real business. SENSE project is a three–year project proposed by Kyushu University, Japan and funded by JICA where chemical free quality and healthy vegetables are producing under the brand name of Qvegie. During her visit, she came in company with JICA-SENSE project members Dr. Akinori Ozaki (Project Coordinator) and Mr. Mansur Ahmed (Technical Manager, Agri).
