April 11, 2016 – Ms. Valérie Gaurier, Program Manager of Water & Life Bangladesh (W&L) has visited Global Communication Center (GCC) of Grameen Communications at Grameen Bank Complex, Mirpur, Dhaka. W&L is a NGO, aims to improve living conditions for families living in slums of developing countries, through the connection of houses to water network, sanitation trainings and services, waste management and fire-fighting. The purpose of the meeting was to find out the opportunity for possible collaborative work for deprived people. Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam Maruf (Director, GCC) welcomed her and shared the updates of GCC’s current projects activities with special focus on healthcare. Ms. Gaurier liked the GramHealth: Portable Health Clinic program and intended to consider the preventive healthcare service for the slum dweller they are working in. She would bring this idea to W&L for next step and looked forward to undertake a joint project in the manner of collaborative work with GCC.
