euglena GENKI Program: 1st Phase of Health Study Completed

April 21, 2016 – Global Communication Center (GCC) has completed the first phase of health checkup and study of the euglena GENKI Project supported school students with the support of Institute of Child Health & ShishuSashthya Foundation Hospital (ICHSSF) through April 17 to 21, 2016 to investigate the impact of taking euglena-fortified biscuits on some selected health condition indicators. This program held in two schools with a total of 201 subjects in Mohammadpur Bihari Camp area, one is Geneva Camp School and another is OBAT School. Out of those subjects, half of them from euglena-fortified biscuits eating group and half of them are from non-eating group. Two Health Assistant of ICHSSF collected samples from both school under the supervision of one Program Assistant of GCC and them conducted the detail tests at the ICHSSF laboratory. Now the data are being analyzed for the final report.

This is to mention here that GCC has been conducting this research with collaboration of ICHSSF for euglena Co., Ltd. to examine the effectiveness of euglena GENKI Program in Bangladesh. euglena GENKI Program offers euglena Nutrition Biscuits among the slam school students to reduce the malnutrition problem. This program will be carried out in 3 phases each of 6 months intervals.
