GramHealth Workshop in Manikganj
July 30, 2016 – Pallyshasthya Meditech Institute and Hospital (PMIH) organized a workshop on “GramHealth: Portable Health Clinic System for Better Healthcare Service and the Role of Diploma Health Workers as Healthcare Entrepreneur” at the PMIH, Manikganj premisis with the collaboration of Global Communication Center (GCC). The event was presided by the Principal of PMIH, Manikganj, Prof. Dr. M.A. Quader and Dr. Rafiqul Islam Maruf (Director, GCC) spoke as the keynote speaker. Around 130 diploma medical students of the institute participated in this workshop. In his speech, Dr. Maruf talked about the GramHealth: Portable Health Clinic (PHC) system, its benefit to the unreached communities and the entrepreneurship opportunities with this system to the young health workers. Mr. Emran Abdullah (Co-founder, Career Cafe) participated as an external resource person and he made a motivational speech to the young students/graduates on entrepreneurship development and the sources of startup funding. At the end, Mr. Rajib Chakrabarty (Sr. Business Development Manager, GCC) gave vote of thanks. During the event, GCC’s healthcare team demonstrated the GramHealth: PHC System. A large number of teachers from PMIH also attended the workshop and appreciated GramHealth: PHC system as a very effective system to serve the rural communities. They also appreciate GCC for bringing a unique opportunity for their graduated students to be healthcare entrepreneurs to serve in their own communities instead of looking for job in the limited job market of Bangladesh.
