October 10, 2016 – The inauguration ceremony of the Tele-Pathological Laboratory was kicked off at Grameen Eye Hospital of Grameen Health Care Services Ltd. (GHS) in Thakurgaon. This Tele-Pathological Laboratory system has been developed by Global Communication Center (GCC). The ceremony was attended by Ms. Nazneen Sultana (Managing Director, GC), Dr. Rafiqul Islam Maruf (Director, GCC), Mr. KM Asaduzzaman (Managing Director, GHS) and other representatives of GHS. The main purpose of this project is to develop a specialized Tele-Pathological Laboratory system for providing authentic pathological report by remote pathologist. Initially two sites are selected as pilot site for developing Tele-Pathological Laboratory. One site is located at Grameen Eye Hospital in Thakurgaon and another site in Madhobpur Sastho Kendro of Grameen Kalyan in Manikganj. The Tele-Pathological Laboratory service of Madhobpur Sastho Kendro will start on October 20, 2016.

Before inauguration of the Tele-Pathological Laboratory, GCC had arranged a 5-days training program at GCC office for 8 Laboratory Assistants those who are working with this projects. The training session was segregated in 2 parts; i.e (1) Tele-Pathological Service training and (2) GramHealth Telemedicine Service training. A team of experts from GCC and one pathologist conducted all the sessions during the training program.
