On May 8, 2019- A MoU signing program has been held at Yunus Centre, Grameen Bank Complex between “Grameen Communications (GC)” and a Japanese company “Sunpower Inc.”. The program was headed by Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chariman of Grameen Communications. The MoU has been signed between Ms. Nazneen Sultana, Managing Director of Grameen Communications and Mr. Takuya Kawamura, Chief Executive Officer of Sunpower Incorporation, Japan. The fellow participants from 1^st Grameen-Sunpower Social Business Startup Tour-2019 also attended this auspicious program.

The core objective of this program is to create potential business opportunities between Grameen and Japanese companies and to launch at least 30 joint ventures and/or joint collaboration projects between Grameen & Japanese companies over next 5 years. The participants will also have the opportunity to explore “Social Business” activities and how these initiatives are playing role in solving social problems.

At the end of the program, both parties expressed their satisfaction on new Joint Venture (JV) and expressed their high hopes in solving social problems through this JV both for Bangladesh & Japan.
