September 30, 2014 – The regular Health Checkup Service under GramHealth has been launched today at Jamalpur through a local entrepreneur. The program is being organized by Zephyrus Health, Jamalpur and is supported by Global Communication Center of Grameen Communications. Zephyrus Health, a health clinic located at Bajrapur Road, Jamalpur that provides eye treatment to the local community will be providing the health checkup service of GramHealth on a regular basis besides its usual services, as well as, the telemedicine service will be supported by GCC.

Under this service, the inhabitants of Jamalpur will be able to get the basic health checkup services of GramHealth Portable Health Clinic along with doctors’ consultancy through telemedicine in their neighborhood whenever they want. Currently, the services are being provided on a trial basis. People are showing interest to learn about the effectiveness of such services, many of them have also taken up the health checkup service.

Previously, an agreement was signed between Dr. Shawgat Ul Karim Khan (from Zephyrus Health) and Global Communication Center in order to provide healthcare services at Jamalpur Sadar Upazila, Jamalpur under the brand name “GramHealth” through the next one year period (August 19, 2014). Ms. Nazneen Sultana (Managing Director, Grameen Communications) had signed the agreement on behalf of GCC. Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam Maruf (Consultant, GCC) and Mr. Partha Pratim Ghosh (IM Specialist, GCC) were also present during the event. Afterwards, two Health Assistants have been trained up to operate with the PHC Box and GramHealth System at GCC. The training session took place through August 31 – September 04, 2014. One Health Assistant from GCC has visited the program site and propped up the trial sessions.
