GCC Garnered Recognition at PKSF Development Fair 2017

November 05, 2017- GCC attended a 6-day’s development fair organized by Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), a state-run development agency. With a view to pulling marginal people out of poverty, the agency organized the fair at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre from October 29 to November 03, 2017. Among 133 stalls represented by around 90 organizations, GCC for the second time participated in this fair and garnered an award in the “non-MFI category” for showcasing an innovative telemedicine service model called Portable Health Clinic (PHC).

From the very beginning of the fair, GCC experienced a surging interest from numerous visitors with various backgrounds including but not limited to health professionals, NGOs, researchers, local administrators, businessmen, academicians etc. The visitors asked different questions to know about PHC and expressed their deep enthusiasm for replicating it to their areas of operations. PKSF authority also visited several times to the GCC stall and gathered information on which areas the service model is in operation. Based on the answers given by GCC staffs, the PKSF authority evaluated the service model and at the last day named GCC an award winner with a trophy and a certificate.
