GCC holds meeting with Orbis

March 23, 2017 – GCC officials had a meeting with an international non-profit NGO, Orbis, USA at its country office in Gulshan, Dhaka.

4 representatives of Orbis led by Ms. Arlene Lozano (Director, Monitoring & Evaluation) participated in the meeting. Orbis and GCC look forward to implement GramHealth: PHC, GramHealth: Telepathology and GramHealth: TeleEyeCare programs in Bangladesh under Orbis.

At the meeting different aspects relating to implementation of GramHealth services especially GramHelth: TeleEyeCare service have been discussed. The team also talked about developing a sustainable model to serve the patients of Bangladesh with GramHealth services in the long run. Dr. Kazi Rafiqul Islam Maruf, (Director, Operations) and 2 other officials participated in the meeting from GCC.

Orbis International is a USA based non-profit NGO dedicated to saving sight worldwide. Its programs focus on the prevention of blindness and the treatment of blinding eye diseases. It runs a Flying Eye Hospital to provide training, equipment and surgical supplies to the developing countries. GCC looks forward to take a successful joint initiative with Orbis and work together in the eye care sector of Bangladesh.
