Pakistan-Thailand-Bangladesh Telemedicine Workshop Held in AIT, Thailand
February 13, 2017 – A team consisting of 3 members from Global Communication Center (GCC) of Grameen Communications attended a training program titled “Sehat Mobile Master Training Course” held in AIT, Thailand. This was a Master Training specially designed for Shalamar Health Science Institute of Lahore, Pakistan. During the training session, GCC team trained 5 persons including faculties, health assistants, and doctor of Shalamar Health Science Institute.
The training started at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand from 13 February 2017 and ended up on 17 February 2017. The training covers Health part, ICT part & field operation part of GramHealth: PHC system. Through this training, GCC trainer team showed & demonstrated full Portable Health Clinic system including theoretical & practical demonstration session. The last 2 days was designed for job training in real field to see PHC system overview & how it works in real field.
AIT coordinated the total training. A brief inaugural session took place on 13 February 2017 and as well as a closing session on 17 February 2017. From the management of AIT, Dr. Jonathan Shaw (Executive Director, AIT Extension) along with Dr. Faiz Shah (Head of Development Management & Head of Yunus Center in Thailand) were present. From GCC Mr. Rajib Chakrabarty (Sr. Business Development & Operation Manager), Mr. Ahasan Ullah (Sr. Software Engineer) and Mr. Md Jiaur Rahman (Program Assistant-Health) were present.
The prime objective of this participation of GCC was to ensure the expansion of GramHealth: Portable Health Clinic (PHC) program in Pakistan. Shalamar Health Science Institute will start piloting of the GramHealth service in Lahore, Pakistan soon and it will be expanded to other area of Pakistan gradually.
