JEPLAN Visits GCC for Joint Venture on e-Waste Business
May 11, 2016 – Mr. Takahiro Chiba from Japan Environment Planning Co. Ltd. (JEPLAN) has completed his two days visit in Dhaka with a successful collaborative meeting with Global Communication Center (GCC). During his two days visit through May 10 – 11, Mr. Chiba carried out some important activities and discussions toward establishing a Joint Venture with Grameen Communications on e-Waste business in Social Business model. In this direction, there were various discussions on an extended pilot program of GCC’s GramClean project as a mechanism for collecting e-Wastes from rural Bangladesh. The discussions provide a chance for JEPLAN and GCC from the various different aspects to come together and make plans for the future on how to proceed with the pilot program. Mr. Chiba will come again with a high profile team led by JEPLAN’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and meet at the upcoming Social Business Day scheduled to be held in Dhaka in July 28-29, 2016. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony is expected to be held on the 1st day of the Social Business Day.
